This was a great experience! Learned a ton about rum production in Barbados, tasted some amazing rums and then hung out at the beach club and had lunch! The beach is gorgeous, food delicious. They have changing rooms and towel rentals available. One of the highlights of our Barbadian adventures! Tip--if you're doing the distillery tour, make sure to wear pants, closed toe shoes and a shirt that covers your shoulders. You're walking through an active distillery, so you must adhere to dress code of production facility to go on the full tour. Don't want to? Just book a tasting experience.

Tours are informative and well run. Our guide was knowledgeable and the whole team are fun and helpful. Two tours operate, one is both a tour of the distillery, history, experimental research in the use of sugar cane juice rather than molasses plus tasting. The other is a tasting only. We did the tour and tasting, which lasted just over an hour and cost 70 barbedian dollars per person. Tastings include a white rum, a dark rum, a dark rum with coconut and a delicious XO. Included with this tour is access to the beach club, (see separate review)which was great as we had an hour and a half to wait before the tour began at 14:30. There is a shop available. You are provided with long trousers (just shorts not allowed) and a shirt to cover your shoulders if you don’t have these items with you, plus a hairnet and hard hat, all for heath & safety purposes.

Absolutely incredible experience at Stades West Indies Rum Distillery! Hands down the best beach drinks I’ve ever tasted—perfectly balanced, super refreshing, and crafted with care. The tasting itself was a highlight, but what really sets this apart is the unbeatable value: for the price of the tasting, you also get a beach chair and umbrella for the whole day. It’s right near the cruise port, and getting there was a breeze.

We stopped In Barbados for a cruise. I knew I wanted to do a rum tasting and there was another distillery that came up. However, Stade’s had an amazing beach/beach club attached so we went here and I’m so glad! Our taxi driver has a hard time finding the place as it is known as the “old Malibu beach club” so we were running late. The staff called to check on us and were able to wait for us to start the tasting. When you arrive you enter the gift shop with reasonably priced bottles. You watch an informative video and get a glass of yummy rum punch. Then the treating is done on the patio adjacent to the beach. We tried 3-4 rums. I was very impressed that they’ve changed the name from plantation so as to not honor slavery. There’s a spit/dump bucket if you don’t want to finish a particular one but I just added mine to my rim punch lol. Definitely enough to get a buzz. We met a lot of cool people in our group tasting and then got to use the beach chairs and umbrellas at the club included in the price of our tasting. They serve food and per other patrons, it was good. The beach was beautiful but the sand was hit and the waves were ROUGH. Make sure you’re a good swimmer as there is no lifeguard and we got thrown around quite a bit at 1 pm. You can walk about a mile down the beach and there is a bounce water park for kids and another restaurant. We only got to spend about 3 hours here but would have loved more. Nathan and Asha are the best!

Stade’s Rum Distillery Tour really does what it says on the tin, or do I mean barrel? Fast approaching its 1st birthday, Stade’s deserves to be experiencing many more birthdays! Fabulous staff team, hand picked and reflecting Ramon’s friendly, quiet professionalism ensured a wonderful experience. The ‘rum tasting’ is very generous; thankfully I ate a hearty breakfast before the tour. This particular rum tasting experience has to be its location on Brighton beach in St. Michael. I stayed for a totally relaxing time on the beach and enjoyed delicious Fishcakes with a tasty dipping sauce and yes, yet more cocktails. This truly was a fabulous experience!

Was here on March 4th, 2025 for a 2:30 tasting & tour. Our guide was Atiya? (Hope I spelled that right) she was fabulous and so friendly. Very professional and informative. She made sure everyone was taken cared of and answered all our questions with superb knowledge about the rum. Great personality and presentation. Great tasting rum! And an even better menu! A must when visiting Barbados!
