Nicknamed “The Last Frontier,” Alaska has Denali National Park’s majestic mountains, vast glaciers, and wild coastlines. Rum wasn’t historically produced here, but was traded by Spanish explorers in the 1700s and Russians in the 1800s. Prohibition arrived early in 1918, but craft distilleries are now flourishing. The first legal distillery opened in 2013, and tasting rooms followed in 2014. While not a rum destination, Alaska’s unique history and scenery make it a must-visit for adventurous explorers.
