Romania, nicknamed “The Land of Dracula,” where the Transylvanian Basin rises the peaks of the Carpathian Mountains in eastern edge of Europe. The diverse landscape includes plains and the Danube River with fertile lands and Black Sea coast. While the 1960s and 70s saw a surge in popularity of imported Caribbean rum, a more recent distillery in Calinesti Commune, Teleorman County with agricultural roots is now making craft rum.
