Vanuatu, the Land of the Ever-Green, is an archipelago of 83 islands (65 inhabited) in the South Pacific, known for its lush rainforests, pristine beaches, and vibrant culture. Part of Melanesia it has a tropical climate and interesting geography, ranging from volcanic peaks to coral atolls. A prominent feature is the active volcano Mount Yasur, on Tanna Island, often called the Fire Mountain. While sugarcane cultivation has a history in Vanuatu, rum production is more recent. In 2017, a distillery ignited the local scene in Port Vila, making cane juice rums celebrating the island’s natural bounty.
